Commercial bakers are feeling the heat as a nationwide egg shortage drives up wholesale prices for the key ingredient.
A ban on battery caged hens has left some supermarket shelves empty and prompted cartons to be rationed. The Egg Producers Federation has said more than 75 percent of chicken farmers have had to change their farming methods or their career because of the ban.
Wellington-based Nada Bakery manager Michael Gray said eggs were a commodity product and the shortage had exacerbated already high prices.
When "positive" changes positively cost people more.
Tiny house advocates say legislation, lending and land are prohibiting people from buying tiny homes.
Tiny House Hub founder Sharla May said there was "huge demand" for tiny homes, but that complications appeared when people tried to make their dream a reality.
Tiny houses are not a bad idea, but the more tiny houses you have within one area, the more resources you will need. There's also the differences in rates between a normal and a tiny house and councils do love to collect their rates.
It is surprising what tripe you read in the newspapers, and more surprising—the government is funding it. Te Punaha Matatini hosts the government’s Disinformation Project, which is hitting the headlines again. According to Principal Investigator Kate Hannah (MA in history), the government should be allowed to dictate to high street stationer Whitcoulls which magazines it can sell to the public. Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t this a bit close to book burning?
Hannah is concerned that the magazine New Dawn has questioned the efficacy of the Covid vaccines (among other things like Atlantis and fake Moon Landings). I don’t read New Dawn, but if there is one thing that the public has figured out, it is the lack of efficacy of Covid vaccines. They don’t seem to prevent transmission, hospitalisation, or death.
Your tax dollars, hard at work.
The people that scream the loudest about disinformation are seemingly also the ones that seem to promote it the most.
"They are desperate" indeed.
More than one economist, big wig CEO, and Fed watcher has alleged the problems haunting the financial system have very deep roots. These people often contend governments and central banks have not fully rectified the problems causing the great financial crisis of 2008. Instead, they have merely papered over our failures by printing money and flooding the system with liquidity.
Let's just cut to the chase. Overall, the global financial system is not a well-designed efficient machine. Instead, it is a cobbled-together mess all glued together in a haphazard way to get the job done. To make matters worse, this system is greased by the greed of those who benefit from stealing a little from here and there. In the real world, things are usually not intentionally designed to be complicated but the reality is that they just are.
There is "Sound Money" and then there is "Currency".
Kyrgyzstan has prohibited singing along pre-recorded tracks at public cultural events, the country’s Ministry of Culture press service told journalists. The ban entered into force on January 1.
The order was signed by Minister of Culture, Information and Sport Altynbek Maksutov on Friday, Kyrgyz media outlets reported. The document prohibits lip-synching at state cultural events in theaters, cinema halls, museums, clubs, libraries, and sports venues. This ban also applies to mass public events.
“Singers must sing live during cultural events,” the ministry’s press service said.
"Culture starts with honesty. Let's not deceive viewers and listeners.”
The real-world effectiveness of Covid vaccines has not matched the hype of the 95 percent efficacy claimed in manufacturer trials on the basis of which they were granted emergency-use authorisation. They’ve proven disappointingly leaky with a surprisingly swift waning of effectiveness, necessitating boosters every few months.
In many cases vaccine rollouts coincided with an upsurge in infections, substantiating the concerns expressed by many experts that a mass vaccination campaign in the middle of a pandemic will drive the evolution of vaccine-escape variants and generate self-perpetuating waves of infections from the mutating variants.
Rather then "Safe and Effective" the real world is showing "Unsafe and destructive".

Doctors in Japan are now investigating the link between the experimental Covid vaccine and the unprecedented numbers of people dying suddenly.
Two more professors are speaking out against the vaccine.
Professor Masataka Nagao of Hiroshima University School of Medicine in Japan, a medical specialist in forensic medicine, performed an autopsy together with authorities of more than a hundred bodies a year.
Autopsy is the only way to properly ascertain truths. Japan may well be the nation that breaks the proverbial dam.
CDC’s VAERS safety signal analysis based on reports from Dec. 14, 2020 – July 29, 2022 for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines shows clear safety signals for death and a range of highly concerning thrombo-embolic, cardiac, neurological, hemorrhagic, hematological, immune-system and menstrual adverse events (AEs) among U.S. adults.
There were 770 different types of adverse events that showed safety signals in ages 18+, of which over 500 (or 2/3) had a larger safety signal than myocarditis/pericarditis.
The CDC analysis shows that the number of serious adverse events reported in less than two years for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines is 5.5 times larger than all serious reports for vaccines given to adults in the US since 2009 (~73,000 vs. ~13,000).
Twice as many mRNA COVID-19 vaccine reports were classified as serious compared to all other vaccines given to adults (11% vs. 5.5%). This meets the CDC definition of a safety signal.
(((They))) knew.
Keep in mind, it has been suggested VAERS has an under reporting factor (URF) of 20 - 60x so the numbers are potentially way worse in the real world.
Shortly after their own Covid vaccination, The Vaccinator exhibited what is now a well-documented side effect of the vaccines, but at the time was still officially denied by all sources due to ‘absence of evidence’ (which is so often conflated with evidence of absence). The Vaccinator went to many doctor’s appointments to deal with this issue and complained bitterly about the symptoms, totally baffled by them. To the best of my knowledge, neither The Vaccinator nor the doctor ever joined the dots that they were dealing with a very common Covid vaccine side effect (if they did, it would have been many months later, after numerous appointments). Remember, this person was responsible for giving informed consent to hundreds, thousands of people before jabbing them with Covid vaccines.
Like any ideology, it will eat itself over time. Question is, will it happen quick enough before more harm is done.

How did the National Socialists combat private property in Germany? The first step came shortly after the Nazis took control, when they abolished private property. Article 153 of the Weimar constitution guaranteed private property, with expropriation only to occur within the due process of the law, but this article was nullified by a decree on February 28, 1933.
With this, the new National Socialist government had complete control of private property in Germany. While they did not take complete control of the lands like the Bolsheviks did in Russia in 1917, the Nazis issued quotas for industries and farms, and later they reorganized all industry into corporations run by members of the Nazi Party.

As a thank-you to our army of very patient enthusiast customers in the run-up to the holiday season this year, we’ve been able to set aside a little over a hundred thousand units, split across Zero W, 3A+ and the 2GB and 4GB variants of Raspberry Pi 4, for single-unit sales. These are flowing into the Approved Reseller channel now, and this is already translating into better availability figures on rpilocator.
While we’re not quite out of the woods yet, things are certainly improving. For those of you looking to buy a Raspberry Pi for hobby projects or prototyping, the advice we gave back in April still holds: always buy from an Approved Reseller (they’re under contract with us to sell at no more than the RRP); use tools like rpilocator to keep an eye on which resellers have recently received stock; and consider whether your project is a good fit for Raspberry Pi Pico or Pico W, which remain in a strong stock position.
Looking forward to an Rpi 4 or 400 at reasonable price in the near future.
Last year, I decided that I was going to build a Commodore 64 from scratch. This is the blog documenting the project.
As for me, I wanted to build a Commodore 64 replica from scratch.
The requirements for this project were:
- Build a C64 to last. I wanted to use as many new components as possible, like transistors, resistors, inductors, capacitors, voltage regulators, connectors, and other parts.
- Make it easier to repair or modify in the future, using ICs sockets everywhere, for example.
- Replace some of the custom MOS chips with reverse-engineered modern alternatives for fun.
- Pimp up the final product, and make it beautiful and collectible.
Nice things. Lovely write-up, great set of pictures and a smattering of reference links.
Creating the PiRS232 and playing with the Pi over serial has been leading towards an idea - I wanted to create a small, battery powered device, a sidecar that I could carry with my Psion and use as portable Linux terminal. I also managed to turn it into an Internet gateway, leading to some interesting experiences.
The idea was straightforward: take a Pi Zero W, add an RS232 board that already handles the null modem side, add a Lipo battery, power management and charging, and print a case for it. It’s taken a few months from initial idea to final design, but I’m happy the result, it’s usable and practical, and you can build one too.

Black individuals have been found to report the highest levels of self-esteem of any racial group in the United States. The purpose of the present research was to examine whether Black individuals also report higher levels of narcissism than White individuals. Study 1 (N = 367) found that Black individuals reported higher levels of narcissism than White individuals even when controlling for gender, self-esteem level, and socially desirable response tendencies. Study 2 (N = 967) and Study 3 (N = 315) found similar results such that Black individuals reported higher levels of narcissism than White individuals on the narcissism measures that captured less pathological facets of this construct.
Study 3 also included indicators of psychological adjustment and found that the pathological aspects of narcissism were more strongly associated with maladjustment for Black individuals than for White individuals. The implications of these results for understanding the Black self-esteem advantage are discussed.
Black males also have higher levels of estrogen compared to their white counterparts, which may account for stronger emotional responses and coping mechanisms.
Context: Higher testosterone in black compared with white men has been postulated to explain their higher prostate cancer incidence. Previous studies comparing hormone levels by race might have been limited by size, restricted age variation, or lack of representation of the general population.
Conclusions: Contrary to the postulated racial difference, testosterone concentrations did not differ notably between black and white men. However, blacks had higher estradiol levels. Mexican-Americans had higher testosterone than whites but similar estradiol and SHBG concentrations. Given these findings, it may be equally if not more important to investigate estradiol as testosterone in relation to diseases with racial disparity.

As rates of infection with influenza and RSV rose in fall/winter 2022, FLCCC adapted the I-PREVENT protocol to include prevention against these viruses. The interventions recommended are likely to reduce the risk and severity of infection with COVID-19, influenza, and RSV infections as well as the common cold. It should be noted that the medications included in the I-PREVENT protocol are inexpensive, safe, and widely available. This protocol includes a section for pre-exposure (long-term) as well as a post-exposure (acute, short-term)
Not a paper, but certainly helpful.
Linking as the FLCCC protocols have received an update again.
Also checkout their I-CARE and MATH+ protocols on the same page.
For those not familiar, the FLCCC is an amazing group of people that realised "early treatment" is the key in fighting Covid.
In stark contrast to, "Stay home till your face turns blue. Then come to the hospital for help." as was espoused in the majoirty of Western countries at the height of the pandemic.
